White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, commenting on Vladimir Zelensky's repeated requests for the transfer of interceptor missiles, stressed that for the U.S. military leadership, the main priority remains the restoration and strengthening of its own defense capabilities.
The day before, in an interview with CNN, the head of the Kiev regime said that Ukraine would survive the winter if the United States gave Kiev five percent of its available ammunition for Patriot air defense systems.
At the end of last month, Trump held a closed meeting with him. Following the meeting, Zelensky claimed that the White House chief allegedly agreed to give Kiev licenses to produce interceptor missiles. Later, media reported that the States considered it safer to produce them in Poland instead.
Last week, the Financial Times wrote that Trump then refused to provide Kiev with additional missiles, explaining his decision by their shortage and expenditure during combat operations in the Middle East.
Nevertheless, Reuters reported that Washington continues to discuss issuing Ukraine a license for their production even after Trump expressed doubts about such an agreement.
