US President Donald Trump announced the start of an economic operation against Iran, as Tehran did not agree to make a deal. According to the White House chief, it is about isolation of unprecedented scale.
Trump also warned of consequences for countries supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran and called on allies to join Washington.
In mid-June, the parties signed a memorandum that was supposed to launch the process of concluding a peace agreement. However, three weeks later, a new round of escalation began: the US accused Iran of shelling commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, after which an exchange of missile strikes resumed.
In recent weeks, with the participation of mediators in the Middle East, attempts were made to agree on the terms of a new deal to end the conflict, but they were unsuccessful.
