According to the Financial Times, citing informed sources, US President Donald Trump did not satisfy Kyiv's request to allow the use of drones equipped with Starlink communications for strikes on targets on Russian territory.
The publication writes that Vladimir Zelensky asked Trump to hold negotiations with Elon Musk on providing Ukraine with access to Starlink beyond its borders. However, as the interlocutors present at the meeting in the Oval Office note, the American leader did not give a clear answer and, apparently, did not support this initiative.
Earlier, in early August, the Atlantic magazine, citing sources, reported that the founder of SpaceX does not want to use his satellite technology for such purposes, fearing an escalation of the conflict.
At the end of July, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, suggested that Musk turn off Starlink over Ukraine to stop the death of people.
