In response to publications about a weapons cache found near Berlin, which is allegedly linked to Russian intelligence, the Russian embassy in Germany, in a conversation with RBC, quoted the film "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed".

The diplomatic mission stated: "Isn't it enough for the German media to hysterize and look for a black cat in a dark room, especially if it's not there?"

The embassy noted that they hear about such a find for the first time, but accusations against Russia were not a surprise for the diplomats.

Earlier, the portal Tagesschau, citing a joint investigation by broadcasters WDR, NDR and the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, reported that German security authorities found a cache with two firearms on the outskirts of Berlin.

According to the portal, the stash was found by German law enforcement in late summer 2025 in a forest on the border of the states of Brandenburg and Berlin. Without providing any evidence, it is claimed that Russian special services may be involved in the cache.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt confirmed the discovery of the cache. According to him, German law enforcement officers are closely cooperating with colleagues from Romania in the case of a suspect detained there, who is connected to the find near Berlin.

In the cult film by Stanislav Govorukhin, the phrase about the "black cat in a dark room" was uttered by Ivan Gruzdev, played by Sergei Yursky, in the context of the absurdity of accusations against him.
