Iran has a number of scenarios to counter hostile steps by the United States, including in the conditions of the economic war declared by them. This was stated by the official representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Hossein Mohebbi.
On Thursday, Donald Trump announced the start of an economic operation against Iran and called on allies to join Washington. According to him, this will lead to isolation on an unprecedented scale.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi regarded these statements as an admission of defeat in the conflict. He called them an attempt to divert attention from the internal crisis, which, in his opinion, will lead the United States to an even more serious failure.
Earlier, in mid-June, the parties signed a memorandum that was supposed to launch the process of peaceful settlement. However, three weeks later, tensions rose again: the United States accused Iran of shelling commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, after which an exchange of missile strikes resumed.
In early August, Trump announced the cancellation of another series of attacks due to an allegedly prepared deal, and the parties, with mediation, tried to agree on the terms of a new agreement.
