Peskov explains CIA director's visit to Moscow by intelligence contacts

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told the Washington Post newspaper that the visit of U.S. Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow is due to contacts between the two countries' intelligence services.

The day before, at about 10:00 Moscow time, a U.S. military transport aircraft Boeing C-17A Globemaster III landed at Vnukovo. Before that, it had made a stop in Riga, where it arrived from Andrews Air Force Base. It is from this base that aircraft of high-ranking U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump, usually depart.

CBS television, citing anonymous sources, claimed that Ratcliffe was on board, arriving for meetings.
