Deputy Defense Minister Army General Yunus-Bek Evkurov said that the Russian Armed Forces are increasingly using FPV drones equipped with artificial intelligence elements. This statement was made after his visit to a training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region, where he checked how combat training is organized for units working with unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire and assault groups.
According to Evkurov, new technologies are being actively introduced, including FPV interceptors that are capable of capturing a target, tracking it, and engaging it. He emphasized that this area is constantly developing in combination with the improvement of the weapons themselves, the introduction of artificial intelligence, and the use of night vision devices, sights, and target designators.
At the same time, the deputy minister noted that the human factor remains key. The work of mobile fire groups is being improved in the troops, taking into account the characteristics of enemy equipment. As an example, he cited the successful use of units equipped with FPV interceptors that reach speeds of over 200 kilometers per hour.
