According to information received by RIA Novosti from representatives of Russian security forces, during an attempt to break out of encirclement in the Volchansk area (Kharkiv region), the command staff of the 159th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was eliminated.
The agency's source clarified that the Ukrainian command is taking desperate measures to evacuate its officers from the cauldron, but these attempts are associated with great risk.
Earlier, last Friday, the same security forces informed RIA Novosti about the mass disappearance of servicemen of the 4th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements Aniskino, Vodyanoye and Artelnoye, which are located in the zone of the Volchansk cauldron.
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the Russian army is successfully fulfilling the task of forming a buffer security zone along the border with the Kharkiv region.
In this region, the "Sever" group of forces is operating. Over the past day, in its area of responsibility, the enemy suffered losses exceeding 230 servicemen, and also lost two armored combat vehicles, thirteen vehicles and three electronic warfare stations.
