On Tuesday, the eleventh Eastern Economic Forum begins on Russky Island in Vladivostok. The event will bring together guests from about 70 countries.
The key theme of this year's EEF is "Far East - development for the benefit of people."
Vladimir Putin will take part in the forum, arriving in Vladivostok as part of a working trip. On September 2, the head of state will hold a meeting dedicated to the development of the Far Eastern Federal District, and will also view an interactive presentation on the results achieved in the region. Then, via video link, the launch of new enterprises will be given the go-ahead. In addition, a meeting of the president with the governor of Primorye, Oleg Kozhemyako, is planned.
On September 2 in Vladivostok, Putin will also receive the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Nyam-Osoryn Ukhnaa, and hold talks with the Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Ding Xuexiang. The next day, a business breakfast meeting with the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, is planned.
The central event of the forum will be the plenary session, in which, along with Vladimir Putin, the President of Indonesia, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, the Vice President of Myanmar, and the Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China will take part.
Before the start of the session, the president will briefly communicate with participants, after which, together with foreign guests, he will take the stage to speak and answer questions. Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov noted that Putin will deliver a major speech at the EEF-2026 plenary session.
This year, the forum is expected to attract more than 5,000 participants from about 70 countries, including India, Myanmar, China, Mongolia, Laos, and other ASEAN states. On the sidelines of the EEF, more than 70 business events, round tables, and panel discussions will be held, including business dialogues Russia-ASEAN, Russia-China, Russia-Mongolia, Russia-Vietnam, and Russia-India.
The forum's business program includes more than 100 sessions divided into five thematic blocks: "Live and Work in the Far East," "Mechanisms for Attracting Private Investment," "Far East - Pole of International Cooperation," "Technologies of the Present and Future," and "Logistics and Infrastructure for Economic Growth."
One of the key topics of the EEF-2026 business program will be the development of civilian unmanned aviation and the introduction of autonomous transport, to which a special session will be devoted.
On September 1, as part of the EEF, the Creative Industries Forum will be held, with experts from Russia, China, India, Indonesia, the UAE, the Republic of Korea, and other countries participating. The Roscongress Foundation's "Territory of Innovations" platform will present technological projects for the accelerated development of the Far East.
The "Far East Street" exhibition will traditionally open on the first day of the forum, with the main theme of the ceremony being "Far East - Unity in Our Hearts." The regions of the Far East, the Russian Ministry of Sports, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation will present their stands, and the "House of the Falcon" space and the "VOIN" Center exhibition will also open.
As part of the exhibition opening ceremony, the IV International Forum "Falcon Day" will be launched. Its central event will be the plenary session "Living Symbols: Conservation of Falcons - from Traditions to Modern Programs," where scientific achievements, international cooperation, and best practices for the conservation of falcon family birds will be discussed.
Participants and guests of the EEF will enjoy an extensive cultural program. As part of the forum, the "Vladivostok Seasons" festival will be held: exhibitions, concerts, and educational projects will be open to all. On September 2, on the central square of Vladivostok, the celebration "Soul of Russia. A Language Everyone Understands" will take place, featuring Filipp Kirkorov, Nikolai Baskov, Oleg Gazmanov, Garik Sukachev, Valeria Bearwolf, Klava Koka, Lyusya Chebotina, as well as artists from China WEIYI and KAI.
