During the event in the SCO+ format, Vladimir Putin noted that the capabilities of the United Nations are not being fully utilized.
According to him, efforts should be made to improve the efficiency of the UN, as well as to expand representation in its bodies, including the Security Council, with states from the Global South and East. Overall, as the president emphasized, the organization should be adapted to changing realities and fundamental shifts in global politics and economics.
The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is taking place in Bishkek. Putin has nine bilateral meetings scheduled, four of which took place the day before, including talks with the Chinese President, the Indian Prime Minister, and the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
