Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Vladimir Putin has ordered a halt to strikes on Kiev for three days. The decision is linked to preparations for talks with American representatives.

On Thursday, the Russian president will meet with negotiators Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Earlier, Donald Trump, the head of the White House, said his envoys would present a proposal for settling the conflict in Ukraine during their visit to Moscow, but details of the initiative have not been disclosed.

On Tuesday, Putin stressed that Moscow is ready for dialogue with anyone who wishes, and noted that representatives of the American leader are always welcome guests with whom the Kremlin is happy to interact.

Earlier, the Russian president also stated his readiness to return to negotiations and discuss all issues raised at the meeting in Alaska in August 2025.
