In Kabardino-Balkaria, an avalanche covered a group of climbers who were walking along a route in the Bezengi Gorge. This was reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to preliminary data, two people died, three were injured, and another ten are under the avalanche. In total, the group had 15 people, the agency clarified.
A signal about snow coming down from Mount Mizhirgi was received at five o'clock in the evening. Rescuers of the Elbrus high-altitude detachment and an operational group went to the scene. A Mi-8 helicopter is planned to be used for the search.
