According to information from the database of the Russian Interior Ministry, which RIA Novosti has seen, Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who announced his resignation, has been put back on the wanted list in the Russian Federation. In addition, he is on the international wanted list.
The database states: "Kravchenko Ruslan... Reason for search: wanted under article of the Criminal Code... place of birth: Ukrainian SSR, Luhansk region, city of Severodonetsk. Special features: re-listed."
Earlier, in 2017, Kravchenko was arrested in absentia in Russia in a case of illegal criminal prosecution of Admiral Alexander Vitko. He was put on the wanted list at that time as well.
The previous evening, the Ukrainian publication "Strana.ua" reported that the prosecutor general had resigned. Kravchenko himself had earlier stated that he did not plan to leave his post in connection with a scandal concerning employees of the agency suspected of involvement in fraudulent call centers.
At the same time, the publication "Ukrainska Pravda" wrote that Vladimir Zelensky had already held a meeting with Kravchenko and the head of the faction of his party "Servant of the People" in the Verkhovna Rada, as well as a member of the committee on national security, defense and intelligence, David Arakhamia. The issue of Kravchenko's dismissal was discussed.
On Monday, Kravchenko said that the Verkhovna Rada committee on law enforcement activities had invited him to a meeting on Tuesday to provide explanations on the case of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) regarding fraudulent call centers.
