An air raid alert has sounded in part of Kyiv region. This happened after the moratorium on strikes on Kyiv, imposed earlier, expired.
According to the online map of the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, the alert in Kyiv region was declared at 0:23 Moscow time. In addition, the alert signal is sounding in Poltava, Cherkasy, Kharkiv and Kirovohrad regions of Ukraine.
Recall that on September 5, Vladimir Putin ordered to stop strikes on Kyiv for three days in connection with the preparation of contacts with Americans in the Ukrainian capital. As the president reported, the Armed Forces did not attack Kyiv since midnight on September 5.
On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin received in the Kremlin US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of the American leader Jared Kushner. The conversation, dedicated to the settlement in Ukraine, lasted more than three hours. As presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said, Putin gave them clear and comprehensive assessments of the situation in the special operation zone, and they promised to be guided by them in negotiations with Kyiv.
The next day, the American delegation held negotiations in Kyiv. At a press conference after the meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, Witkoff said that during the visit to Moscow he heard new ideas on the Ukrainian settlement, and great progress was made in the negotiations. He also expressed hope for the beginning of rapprochement between the positions of Moscow and Kyiv. In turn, the second member of the American delegation, Jared Kushner, said that Washington is working on forming a "peace package".
