Units of the "Sever" group thwarted two attempts by Ukrainian assault groups to break out of encirclement in the Kharkov region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry clarified that the enemy attempted to break through near the settlements of Sliznevo and Dolzhanka. Russian fighters continue to tighten the encirclement ring in this direction, having liberated the settlement of Ozernoye.

Inside the cauldron, Ukrainian units were hit in the areas of Malaya Volchya, Komissarovo, and Buzovo. On the outer contour, enemy personnel and equipment were destroyed in the areas of Novoaleksandrovka, Prikolotnoye, and Olkhovatka, the ministry stressed.

Over the past day, Ukrainian losses amounted to up to 35 servicemen, one armored combat vehicle, two ATVs, and four ground robotic systems, the ministry added.

Earlier, on Monday, the Defense Ministry reported that the Russian army had encircled about 1,700 militants in the north of the Kharkov region. According to Vladimir Putin, the area of the resulting cauldron is 460 square kilometers and includes 27 settlements. Its elimination will allow moving the line of combat contact at least 20 kilometers away from the border areas of the Belgorod region.
