After a three-day silence regime observed from Saturday to Monday, which implied refraining from attacks on capitals, Russian troops on Tuesday launched a massive strike on Kyiv. According to the Defense Ministry, high-precision ground- and air-launched weapons, as well as drones, hit military-industrial complex enterprises, logistics and warehouse centers, and military facilities in the capital region.
The ministry did not disclose the number of munitions used, but according to the Ukrainian side, the raid involved strategic bombers that launched 32 Kh-1 cruise missiles, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Onyx missiles, and 166 attack drones, mostly of the jet type. Ukrainian air defense failed to shoot down most Russian missiles due to an acute shortage of missiles for Patriot systems and the high speed of Geran-4 and Geran-5 drones, which are difficult for mobile fire groups to hit.
One of the targets was the Kyiv Rocket Aggregate and Parts Plant, where, according to the Defense Ministry, components for reconnaissance and strike UAVs were produced, including long-range aircraft used for attacks on civilian targets in Russia. This plant had already been struck: it was seriously damaged in October 2025, and last attacked on July 2. However, judging by the latest report, the enterprise continued to operate, so a repeated strike was required.
Also attacked was the Reinforced Concrete Structures Plant No. 1, which, according to the Defense Ministry, manufactures warheads for Flamingo cruise missiles and FP-2 fixed-wing drones. These munitions are considered among the most dangerous of the enemy, as they are capable of reaching Moscow. They are produced by Fire Point, whose facilities have been systematically targeted since summer. In June, a strike was carried out on a site in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on August 8 on the Kyiv-111 plant, and on August 20 on a rocket engine assembly shop in the capital. Despite the dispersal of capacities, strikes continue to hit their targets.
In addition, a strike was carried out on the enterprise Element UA LLC, which is engaged in the production and storage of components for Hornet medium-range UAVs. This facility was already hit on August 27. In June, American-designed Hornets seriously impeded traffic on the Novorossiya highway, important for land communication with Crimea. The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked trucks and fuel tankers, creating a threat to the supply not only of the peninsula but also of the Vostok and Dnepr groupings. The problem was solved thanks to the actions of mobile fire groups and interceptor drone crews. Response strikes on enterprises complicate the enemy's conduct of so-called mid-strikes - attacks at medium range.
Another target was the Ukrspetssystems trade and warehouse complex, which, according to the military, was involved in Shark reconnaissance UAVs. These drones are considered among the most effective for artillery fire adjustment by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The operator can maintain communication with the aircraft at a distance of up to 60 kilometers, and updated versions can stay in the air for up to seven hours. After the strike, the situational awareness of Ukrainian artillerymen will decrease.
In Kyiv Oblast, several production enterprises were also hit. At the facility of Combat Birds of Ukraine LLC in the city of Bila Tserkva, the company Warbird Ukraine develops and tests TRX UAVs with a range of 450 kilometers. This drone operates on Starlink, making it invulnerable to electronic warfare means. Currently it is used as a reconnaissance and relay platform, but Kyiv plans to launch its combat version into mass production. After the night strikes, these plans will likely be postponed.
In addition, according to documents, the Khimtransagro logistics center in Shkarivka is engaged in wholesale trade of chemical industry products. However, according to the Defense Ministry, its workshops were used for the delivery and distribution of military cargo, including drone components. It was also hit. In Bila Tserkva, a strike was carried out on the R-Plast logistics center, associated with the company Smart Munitions.
In Kyiv Oblast, three military facilities were also hit. The Vasylkiv air base was attacked once again, where the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade is stationed with MiG-29 fighters, which the enemy modified for the use of Western guided bombs and anti-radiation missiles. It has been regularly hit since February. In Boryspil, a fuel and lubricants warehouse at the airfield was destroyed, and in the Fastiv district, a radio and radiotechnical intelligence center of the SBU was hit.
Russian troops are deliberately depriving the enemy of their main trump card on the front - drones. The entire defensive tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are built on the "drone wall." It is on UAV production that the Ukrainian defense industry and European industry have focused. The experience of the special operation has shown: the best way to protect against drones is to destroy them at the production stage, preventing them from reaching the front line.
Russia cannot strike European enterprises, but it can hinder the delivery of their products. In late August, the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a series of strikes on border crossings connecting Ukraine with Europe, through which military cargo is also transported. In particular, two checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border and the Orlivka ferry crossing on the border with Romania were attacked.
There are enough such targets on Ukraine's western borders. Goods from Poland go through seven checkpoints, the largest of which are: Yahodyn - Dorohusk, Krakivets - Korczowa, Rava-Ruska - Hrebenne, Shehyni - Medyka. From Slovakia and Hungary - through five, including Uzhhorod - Vysne Nemecke and Luzhanka - Beregsurany. From Romania - also through five, the busiest being Porubne - Siret. From Moldova - ten, the main one being Mohyliv-Podilskyi - Otaci.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are already deprived of supplies by sea. The logical next step would be to cut off land communication with Europe so that Western weapons do not reach the front, while simultaneously destroying the remnants of the military industry on Ukrainian territory.
