The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the liberation of the village of Zarubinka in the Kharkiv region, located in the zone of encirclement of Ukrainian troops.

According to the ministry's summary, units of the "North" group of forces in the Kharkiv region, as a result of active actions to expand the zone of control on the outer ring of the encirclement, took control of the settlement of Zarubinka.

In addition, as stated in the report, the "northerners" inflicted damage on units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces inside the pocket in the areas of Malaya Volchya and Buzovo. In the area of Olkhovatka, about 180 people from two battalions were blocked. The military ministry emphasized that all attempts by the enemy to break out of the encirclement were thwarted.

Over the past day, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in these battles amounted to approximately 40 soldiers, two combat armored vehicles, three pickup trucks, two quad bikes and three ground robotic systems.

On another section of the front, the "North" group liberated the village of Goptovka.

As the Defense Ministry stated on September 7, in the north of the Kharkiv region the army encircled about 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen. According to Vladimir Putin, the area of the pocket is 460 square kilometers and includes 27 settlements. Its elimination will make it possible to push the line of combat contact back at least 20 kilometers from the border areas of the Belgorod region.
