Gazprom has reported that gas prices in Europe have reached levels recorded in December 2022 during the energy crisis.
It noted that expensive fuel and insufficient rates of filling underground storage facilities increase the threat to reliable gas supply in Europe during the cold period.
In June, European Commission spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen said that the EU, amid the crisis around the Strait of Hormuz and fears of fuel supply disruptions, lowered the required level of storage filling by the start of the winter season from 90% to 80%.
Earlier, Gazprom gave a forecast according to which, if current injection rates continue, the volume of European UGS facilities by October 1 will be below 75%.
