The Defense Ministry's summary reports that Russian troops have expanded their control zone in the encirclement ring of Ukrainian militants in the north of Kharkiv region.
"Control has been established over Olkhovatka, and formations of the AFU blocked east of this settlement are being destroyed," the summary says.
Fighting continues for the liberation of the village of Malaya Volchya. In the area of the settlements of Khripuny and Buzovo, enemy units were struck. According to the ministry, over the past day the losses of Ukrainian troops in the encirclement ring amounted to up to 35 servicemen.
In addition, the ministry said that on the outer contour the "North" group struck formations of the AFU near Prikolotnoye, Novoaleksandrovka and Petropavlovka.
On September 7, the Defense Ministry stated that the army had encircled about 1,700 AFU servicemen in the north of Kharkiv region. According to Vladimir Putin, the elimination of the cauldron will make it possible to push the line of combat contact back by at least 20 kilometers from the border areas of Belgorod region.
