In the area of a pocket in the north of the Kharkiv region, the Sever group has advanced. This was reported by the Defense Ministry.
"As a result of active actions, the settlement of Malaya Volchya came under the control of Russian troops," the ministry's summary says.
On September 7, the Defense Ministry stated that the army had encircled about 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen in the north of the Kharkiv region. Since the beginning of the month, the enemy has lost more than 600 fighters there, 15 armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles, 13 quad bikes and 23 ground robotic systems.
According to Vladimir Putin, the elimination of the pocket will make it possible to push the line of combat contact back by at least 20 kilometers from the border areas of the Belgorod region.
