Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti that Russia feels gratitude and appreciation in connection with the invitation to Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit.
He noted: "We will decide and work it out through diplomatic channels."
Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that participation in this event would give Putin the opportunity to communicate not only with his American counterpart, but also with other world leaders.
The "Group of Twenty" includes the world's leading economies, as well as the African and European unions. The association's summit is scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami. The Kremlin had previously noted that Russia would take part in it at a high level. Experts are already working on coordinating the necessary documents, but whether the president will go there is not yet known.
