The Defense Ministry stated that establishing control over the dominant heights in the Dobropolye area will give Russian military personnel the opportunity to accelerate their advance toward the border of the DPR.
The ministry's statement emphasized: "This direction is one of the key ones for achieving results in the full liberation of Donbass and is of fundamental importance for successful offensive operations of the Joint Group of Forces."
As the ministry explained, Ukrainian militants used Dobropolye to strike units of "South" that were advancing on Druzhkovka. The liberation of the city will allow Russian fighters to deprive the enemy of its main fortified area - the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk-Druzhkovka agglomeration.
In addition, the ministry noted that Dobropolye is an important transport hub through which one of the main supply arteries of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Dnepropetrovsk region passes.
"Establishing control over the city will disrupt the well-established system of supplying the enemy grouping not in individual segments, but in the entire logistics chain of supply for the Ukrainian army in Donbass," the Defense Ministry emphasized.
