Russian security forces told RIA Novosti that Ukrainian Armed Forces units lost armored vehicles when they unsuccessfully tried to leave the encirclement in the area of Nefedovka in Kharkiv Oblast.
According to the agency's source, the enemy twice attempted to break out of the encirclement in armored vehicles in the area of Nefedovka. He noted that the movement of Ukrainian combat groups on Tisa armored vehicles and M113 armored personnel carriers was detected by reconnaissance in advance.
The source specified that the enemy was eliminated by complex fire damage.
The day before, the army thwarted two attempts near Nefedovka by a group of up to ten fighters to break out of the encirclement.
In early September, Sever fighters encircled about 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen in Kharkiv Oblast. As Vladimir Putin stated, the area of the pocket is 460 square kilometers and includes 27 settlements. Its elimination will make it possible to push the line of combat contact at least 20 kilometers away from the border areas of Belgorod Oblast.
