An additional cover echelon at extremely low altitudes has appeared in the air defense system. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, Andrei Mordvichev.
As he explained, the combat composition of formations and military units of the Army Air Defense was increased. Counter-UAV units were included in them. This was done to increase the effectiveness of protecting the Ground Forces and rear facilities in the operational depth of troop groupings from drone strikes.
"This made it possible to create an additional cover echelon in the air defense system at extremely low altitudes," Mordvichev said in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
