All necessary orders on ensuring the security of the Kaliningrad region have been given by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated by presidential aide and Maritime Board chairman Nikolai Patrushev.
At a working meeting with Kaliningrad region governor Alexei Besprozvannykh, Patrushev recalled that they had previously discussed ensuring the region's security. According to him, the president has given all necessary commands to the relevant structures, and they are dealing with this issue very thoroughly.
In December 2025, Putin, during a direct line combined with a press conference, said that Russia would destroy threats to the Kaliningrad region if they arise. He stressed that a possible blockade of the region could lead to a full-scale conflict.
