Ukrainska Pravda, citing the press secretary of the city military administration, reports: the Kyiv Defense Council will hold an emergency meeting prompted by the situation with the bridges.
On the same day, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that traffic had been restricted on three bridges across the Dnipro in the city. Footage of huge traffic jams is appearing on social media.
The publication notes: "After several hits on the Southern Bridge, a support, a crash barrier, and the road and protective concrete deck of the metro were damaged."
According to media reports, 90% of transit traffic between the left-bank and right-bank parts of Ukraine passes over this bridge. It connects the Kyiv - Odesa, Kyiv - Chop and Kyiv - Kharkiv highways. The day before, traffic across it was also halted several times.
As reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the night of Friday, fighters struck a road and rail bridge in Kyiv, over which troops and military cargo are moved to the Donbas.
In response to the enemy's actions, the Russian army strikes decision-making centers, enterprises and warehouses that the Ukrainian Armed Forces use together with NATO specialists. Fighters use strike drones and long-range precision weapons capable of destroying any target across the entire Ukrainian territory.
