Ukraine's National Bank has reported a sharp decline in grain shipments abroad. According to the regulator's data, in August grain exports from Ukraine fell by 63.3 percent compared with the same month last year.
The Financial Times previously wrote that Ukraine has encountered difficulties exporting grain through the Black Sea. According to the publication, this is caused by strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on military targets in areas of Black Sea ports that are used to deliver cargo for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As the Ministry of Defense noted, the Russian Armed Forces are striking port infrastructure and vessels involved in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy, Taras Vysotsky, acknowledged in late July that ships had stopped entering Ukrainian ports, and that a transport collapse had occurred on the Polish-Ukrainian border against that backdrop.
