RIA Novosti, after reviewing data from Ukraine's Finance Ministry and national agencies, reports: G7 states have issued loans to Kyiv worth almost 50 billion dollars, using income from frozen Russian assets.

In 2024, the Group of Seven approved a loan of approximately that amount under this scheme. By the end of September, Kyiv had already received 49.4 billion dollars.

The first billion dollars came from the United States - back at the end of 2024. Subsequently, it did not send money from income on Russian assets.

The other G7 members transferred 37.9 billion dollars to Ukraine last year and 10.5 billion this year.

Bank of Russia assets were blocked after the start of the special operation in Ukraine in 2022. Their main volume - according to the Central Bank's estimate, more than 210 billion euros - is held in Europe's largest depository, Euroclear.

Moscow took retaliatory measures: assets of foreign investors from unfriendly states and income from them are accumulated in special type "C" accounts. They can be withdrawn only by decision of a special government commission.
