Russia's conscience is clear, and Moscow is not to blame for the fact that Washington could not withstand pressure from Europe, which proudly announced the "funeral of Anchorage." This was stated at a press conference following the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states by the head of Russia's foreign policy department, Sergey Lavrov.
According to him, Russia not only has no guilt behind it, but also fully agreed with the proposal of the United States, which they put forward in August of last year within the framework of the summit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska.
The talks between Putin and Trump took place in the summer of 2025 in Anchorage, where the leaders of the two countries discussed options for settling the Ukrainian conflict. Following the summit, the Russian president said that it was possible to reach the end of the conflict in Ukraine, and noted Russia's interest in ensuring that the settlement would be long-term.
