US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to hold a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the near future. He did not name specific timing for the call.
In the course of his communication with journalists, Trump also touched on the topic of the Russian president's birthday.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted earlier, if an initiative comes from the American side, Putin and Trump's talks will be coordinated promptly.
Since the start of the year, the leaders of Russia and the US have held five telephone conversations. The most recent of them took place on September 8. During it, they assessed the results of visits by American representatives to Moscow and Kyiv.
