A RIA Novosti correspondent reports: Vladimir Putin is making a two-day visit to Turkmenistan.

The Russian president's aircraft landed at Turkmenbashi International Airport. The purpose of the trip is to take part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, as well as in the Caspian Environmental Summit.

Today's agenda also includes a one-on-one conversation with the head of the republic, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Tomorrow, talks are planned between the Russian leader and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Middle East will be discussed.

A Putin press conference following the visit to Turkmenistan is not yet planned.

All events will take place in the national tourist zone "Avaza" - a resort complex on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, located not far from the city of Turkmenbashi.
