The Ukrainian holding company DTEK reported an emergency power outage in Kyiv. In a post on its Telegram channel, the company said that power engineers are already working on site.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, for his part, said that the premises housing the parliament's energy and tax policy committees lost power.

According to media reports, a transport collapse ensued: metro and surface electric transport services were disrupted, the increased flow of cars and buses caused severe traffic jams, and taxi prices soared to "cosmic" levels.

Earlier on Thursday, the city administration announced the suspension of train service and escalator operation in the metro due to a voltage drop in the network.

Russian forces regularly strike enemy infrastructure. The Defense Ministry has repeatedly emphasized that this is done to reduce its military-economic potential. At the same time, troops use strike UAVs and long-range precision weapons capable of destroying any target both in Kyiv and throughout Ukrainian territory.
