The Kremlin said that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held a telephone conversation in which a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and economic cooperation were discussed.

In a published statement by the Russian president, it says: "The situation around Iran and various aspects of bilateral relations were also touched upon."

According to him, the Russian side confirmed its readiness to supply oil and petroleum products to the American and world markets. In addition, the heads of state confirmed an agreement to continue personal contacts and cooperation through the presidential administrations, special services and other agencies.

For his part, Trump announced a large-scale agreement in the energy sphere. According to him, Russia, depending on the state of its oil refineries, will supply up to three million tonnes of diesel fuel to the US and the world market in the shortest possible time. At the same time, Moscow is ready to supply 300,000 tonnes right now, 500,000 in November and another million immediately after that. Later, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak confirmed this information to journalists.

The US Treasury Department, meanwhile, said that the Office of Foreign Assets Control will immediately issue a temporary general license permitting such supplies. Thus, all operations related to the sale, delivery, unloading and import of diesel of Russian origin, including entry into the United States, are permitted until April 7.
