US President Donald Trump has said that Vladimir Zelensky needs to stop discussing a deal with Russia and instead directly work on concluding it. The American leader told journalists about this.

"Zelensky must focus on concluding a deal, not on talking about it," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Trump also believes that the head of the Kyiv regime should hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On Saturday, the White House head accused Zelensky of not responding to Washington's calls to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries. According to Trump, Zelensky should have concluded peace with Moscow long ago, but instead "created problems for the whole world." In addition, Trump suggested that Zelensky organize elections so that Ukrainians could elect a more negotiable leader.

A day earlier, a meeting of US and Ukrainian representatives took place in Miami, which, according to media reports, ended early. The reason for this, it is noted, was the deal on Russian diesel that the White House head announced a day earlier after phone talks with Putin. The Kremlin said that the conversation was mainly devoted to the topic of the Ukrainian settlement.

As reported, Trump's representatives also warned the Ukrainian side about a possible halt in the transfer of intelligence data if it does not renounce attacks on Russian oil refineries.

Earlier, Putin explained that the army began carrying out massive strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities in response to the enemy's actions, which had set the goal of "disabling" the Russian economy. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that this is being done to reduce Ukraine's military-economic potential.
