Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called Vladimir Zelensky's position on the diesel deal a direct and rude challenge to US President Donald Trump.
According to the minister, such behavior has already become habitual for the head of the Kiev regime: he proceeds from the assumption that the whole world owes him, while he himself is not obliged to do anything in response. Lavrov also stressed that Zelensky is not ready to take constructive steps that would be truly equal.
At the same time, the head of the foreign policy department once again pointed to Russia's readiness for sane and honest negotiations on Ukraine.
On Friday, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held a telephone conversation. After it, the US president announced a large-scale agreement in the energy sphere: Moscow, depending on the state of its refineries, will supply up to three million tons of diesel fuel to the American and world markets. For this, the country's Finance Ministry issued an exemption from sanctions valid until April 7.
On Saturday, the Russian government partially lifted the ban on diesel exports. As Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, in October Moscow is ready to supply 300 thousand tons, in November - 500 thousand, in December - up to a million. In the future, the volume may grow to three million tons per month. At the same time, the domestic market will remain fully supplied with diesel, he stressed.
