US President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that Washington should not engage with Vladimir Zelensky. He said this in an interview with NewsMax.
According to him, Zelensky is not the person the US should be dealing with. Trump noted that Zelensky talks about wanting a settlement, but this does not correspond to reality. The American leader also said he is not a big fan of Zelensky, and added that everything in Ukraine has been destroyed.
In addition, the politician stressed: it is harder to negotiate with the head of the Kyiv regime than with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, the head of the White House suggested that the Ukrainian conflict could end soon, and added that Moscow will probably discuss a settlement no longer with Zelensky.
On Saturday, Trump accused the head of the Kyiv regime of ignoring Washington's requests not to strike Russian oil refineries. According to the US president, Zelensky should have made peace with Moscow long ago, but instead created problems for the whole world. Trump suggested that Zelensky hold elections so that Ukrainians could elect a more negotiable leader.
