RIA Novosti studied the payment schedule of Ukraine's Ministry of Finance, which shows that in 2027 Kyiv must transfer 6.674 billion dollars to foreign creditors.
As stated in the document, repayment of the principal amount of external state debt next year will require 3.335 billion dollars from Kyiv.
Servicing external loans, in turn, will cost another 3.339 billion dollars.
At the same time, the schedule includes only those accruals that the Ukrainian Finance Ministry entered into the payment calendar. It does not reflect the full volume of state debt - as of the end of August, that figure reached 215.55 billion dollars.
Ukraine is heavily dependent on external financing. However, in the West, new aid packages are agreed upon after lengthy discussions, and partners increasingly warn that Ukraine needs to more actively seek sources for self-sufficiency.
