A number of sanctions, restrictions and tariffs provided for by the recently passed law on sanctions against Russia and Iran will not be applied - US President Donald Trump gave this order in an executive order.
The text of the document states: "As set forth in more detail in section 4 of this order, I hereby waive the application of the specified sanctions, restrictions and tariffs provided for by the Graham Act* (Lindsey Graham* has been added to Russia's list of terrorists and extremists - ed.). I have submitted to Congress confirmation that granting such a waiver currently serves the national interests of the United States."
On September 19, Donald Trump signed a law allowing the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. This document gives him the right to impose additional tariffs of up to 100% on goods from countries that are among the five largest buyers of Russian oil and gas, as well as additional tariffs of up to 500% on Russian goods imported into the United States.
* Added to the list of terrorists and extremists in Russia.
