In a greeting on Gunsmith Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the domestic defense-industrial complex will build up its potential.
The head of state conveyed words of appreciation to all who continue professional traditions, selflessly working both in large holdings and in small and medium-sized businesses, design bureaus and research centers. Putin also expressed gratitude to gunsmiths who successfully bring breakthrough projects and bold innovative solutions to life.
In addition, the president stressed that the country is rightly proud of the centuries-long history of the domestic defense-industrial complex. In particular, he recalled the contribution of the craftsmen of Tula, Izhevsk, Perm and other capitals of the state's arms industry.
Gunsmith Day is marked in Russia annually on September 19.
