During a visit to Stockholm, Nvidia chief Jensen Huang made a bold statement: in the future, every company will use artificial intelligence (AI) in its work. According to him, this will inevitably affect all sectors of the economy. Huang also urged Europe to develop its own technologies in this area more actively.
"Every company will ultimately become an AI company. Every industry will feel the impact of AI," he said at an event in the Swedish capital. The visit is part of a European tour that will conclude with an Nvidia conference in Berlin next week.
Huang stressed that Europe needs to build the entire technology chain, from data centers to chatbots and other applications. "It is important to understand that Europe needs to create the entire infrastructure," he noted.
In a conversation with AFP, Huang said that over the past year his company has invested $8 billion in Europe. "We have strategically invested in different parts of this ecosystem, in genuinely high-quality companies that we believe can help elevate the entire ecosystem in Europe," he said, citing the UK data center and cloud AI services provider Nscale and the Dutch cloud provider Nebius as examples.
"Over the past year we have already invested $8 billion. Another couple of billion is in process," he added. "We are helping Europe build an AI ecosystem."
Huang was in Stockholm for the launch of Sferical One, a Swedish supercomputer built on Nvidia chips that will allow sensitive data and expertise to be kept within the country. In addition, Volvo Cars announced an expansion of its partnership with Nvidia to improve safety technologies in its future self-driving cars.
