Steven Witkoff, the US president's special envoy, expects after a meeting in Oslo with Vladimir Zelensky and delegations from Ukraine and the EU to convey to Vladimir Putin the ideas that will be developed there. This is reported by Axios portal journalist Barak Ravid, citing an unnamed American official.

According to this information, on Tuesday Donald Trump's special envoy will hold talks in Oslo with Vladimir Zelensky. Representatives of the EU, NATO, the E4 countries and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store will also take part.

Earlier, Reuters, citing sources, reported that Witkoff intends to come to Moscow for a meeting with Putin, probably this week.

According to Axios, on Monday Vladimir Zelensky said in a conversation with American senators that he intends to visit the Norwegian capital, where he may meet with Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

At the start of last week, the portal wrote that Witkoff and Kushner had postponed the date of their visit to Russia until a new version of a peace agreement on Ukraine was agreed with Kyiv and the Europeans. As The New York Times claimed, the trip was delayed until relations between Trump and Zelensky improved.

On October 9, a meeting between the Americans and the Ukrainian side took place in Miami, which, according to media reports, ended early. The reason for this, it is noted, was the deal on Russian diesel that the White House chief announced the day before, after phone talks with Putin. As the Kremlin said, the conversation was mostly devoted to the Ukrainian settlement.

Donald Trump has recently been actively criticizing Zelensky. The day before, he accused the head of the Kyiv regime of not wanting to end the conflict with Russia, suggesting he look for a more accommodating representative, and earlier expressed the opinion that Ukraine needs a leader who can reach an agreement with Moscow.
