The Ukrainian settlement is now closer than ever, although many stages still lie ahead. US President Donald Trump said this, according to the White House press pool.
"We still have many steps ahead, but it (the settlement - ed.) is closer than ever," Trump said.
Talks between Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier ended in St Petersburg. The Russian side was also represented by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov and the president's special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev.
