Family reunifications took place in Gomel Region on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. The humanitarian event was held on Friday at the Novaya Guta checkpoint.

Six families will return to relatives in Russia - seven people in total, including a married couple. Another six people will travel to territory controlled by Kyiv.

Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova had earlier stressed that negotiations on humanitarian issues are difficult. She published lists of those Russia is ready to hand over, but Ukraine, according to her, does not always take back its citizens and often puts forward unacceptable demands.
