The military are currently coordinating the timeline for a ceasefire in the area of Aleshki in Kherson region. This was reported by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier the same day, the White House announced that the United States had secured an agreement on a pause in hostilities in this city, and that it would take effect on October 29.
Peskov noted that Russia welcomes the efforts of US first lady Melania Trump, who made a substantial contribution to the humanitarian operation in Aleshki. A great deal of work was also done by ombudsman Yana Lantratova, as well as by her Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Lubinets.
At the same time, Peskov added, cooperation along military lines between Washington and Kiev has not stopped.
Aleshki is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, opposite Kherson, which is controlled by the Ukrainian armed forces. As governor Vladimir Saldo has said, Ukrainian militants are remotely mining roads and attacking transport with drones in order to block supplies of food, fuel and medicines. They are also striking energy and communications facilities in order to create a difficult humanitarian situation.
Peskov has noted that the Russian army is doing everything to solve the problem of delivering food and medicines. He has called the situation in the city critical, since the Kiev regime is trying with all its might to prevent this.
