From 04:00 Moscow time on October 27, 2026, a "silence regime" is being introduced on the Kherson axis. This was announced by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and First Deputy Defense Minister, Army General Valery Gerasimov. According to him, fire is being halted in connection with a humanitarian operation in the area of the settlement of Aleshki in Kherson region. Gerasimov's words are cited by the Russian Defense Ministry.
On Friday the White House said the United States had secured an agreement on a local ceasefire in Aleshki, which will take effect on October 29.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists that the coordinating role in organizing the humanitarian mission in Aleshki belongs to Melania Trump. According to him, the military is currently coordinating the timing of the ceasefire in the Aleshki area.
Aleshki is located on the left bank of the Dnieper opposite the city of Kherson, which is controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Due to the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a difficult humanitarian situation has developed in the city.
