Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has not ruled out the possibility of talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump on the sidelines of the APEC summit. He said this to RIA Novosti.
According to him, attention is now focused on Shenzhen, where a chance may arise for a bilateral meeting between Putin and Trump or a trilateral one involving Putin, Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Both options, as Peskov put it, are "on the table."
At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian leader specified that there are no final agreements on such formats of talks yet.
"But we still hope that such an opportunity will arise," Peskov added.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that China is working on preparing a possible trilateral meeting.
The APEC summit will be held in the Chinese city of Shenzhen on November 18-19.
The previous in-person meeting between Putin and Trump took place in August 2025 in Anchorage.
