On the Kherson front, Russian Armed Forces have stopped fire and established a ceasefire regime - this is being done as part of preparations for a humanitarian operation in the area of Aleshki. This was reported by the Defense Ministry.
Aleshki is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, opposite Kherson, which is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Governor Vladimir Saldo previously stressed: Ukrainian militants are deliberately creating a severe humanitarian situation, and are also striking energy and communications facilities.
Last Friday, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, reported that from 4:00 Moscow time on October 27 the military are introducing a "ceasefire regime" there - this is necessary for conducting a humanitarian operation.
Earlier, the White House stated that the agreements on a local ceasefire had been reached by the United States. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that Melania Trump played a coordinating role in this.
