The attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack the capital turned out to be one of the largest this year. This is evidenced by data on social media from Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, which RIA Novosti analyzed.
According to the city head, from yesterday evening until Friday morning, 862 UAVs flew toward the Moscow region. Air defense forces neutralized most of them at long range, and 170 drones on approach to the capital.
The previous large drone raid on Moscow occurred on the night of October 28-29. At that time, 613 UAVs were heading toward the city.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on yesterday's attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces: he called Kyiv's attempt to strike the city with drones during the Russia-Africa summit days strange.
The largest drone raid on the capital since the start of autumn was recorded on September 19 and 20 - on the days when State Duma elections were held in the country. The military destroyed 1,600 drones, of which 450 were approaching the city.
