Limiting combat operations is not part of preparations for negotiations on Ukraine. This was stated to journalists by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"We have repeatedly said ourselves that we are against a ceasefire that would give a breather," the correspondent quotes him as saying.

According to Peskov, attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on oil refineries do not complicate the organization of a meeting with representatives of Kyiv and Washington. Moscow does not intend to discuss this topic during the negotiations.

Peskov also emphasized: Russia is conducting the special military operation in order to deprive Ukraine of the ability to carry out strikes.

Last week, US presidential special envoy Steven Witkoff visited St. Petersburg and presented Vladimir Putin with documents setting out approaches to resolving the conflict. The Russian president, in turn, informed the American negotiator of Moscow's readiness to resume consultations in a trilateral format.

As Peskov noted, at the planned meeting in Abu Dhabi the delegations will consider security guarantees for Russia and Ukraine. Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the negotiations will take place after November 4. The exact date will be approved taking into account, among other things, the situation on the battlefield.
