According to US President Donald Trump, the Ukrainian conflict will be resolved in the not-too-distant future. He said this to journalists while at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

"I think the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will end in the not-too-distant future," a source quoted him as saying.

A week earlier, a meeting was held in Oslo involving Vladimir Zelensky, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and US special envoy Steven Witkoff. The very next day, the American negotiator arrived in St. Petersburg and presented Vladimir Putin with documents setting out approaches to settling the Ukrainian conflict. The Russian president, in turn, informed Witkoff that Moscow was ready to resume consultations in a trilateral format - with the participation of Washington and Kiev.

As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, at the planned meeting in Abu Dhabi the parties intend to discuss security guarantees for Russia and Ukraine. There is no specific information yet on the date of this meeting.
